1. Identification:
The briefest method for distinguishing the true silk is look, touch, burn.
Look: Look at the sheen, the true silk shall have the natural pearl-like sheen, bright and mild.
Touch: The feel shall be smooth and soft, full of elasticity, the one without anti-crease treatment shall have crinkle once being creased.
Burn: The burnt fiber shall be shrunk in the slow combustion, and shall continue to combust after being off the flame. The combustion will give off the smell of burning hairs (for it’s animal fiber), form a small black ball after being burnt, and shall be smashed into powder by fingers. 2.Dressing:
(1) Purchase the size 2-4CM larger than the original size, therefore, the dressing will not damage the silk fiber.
(2) When the silk costume is worn inside, the lining of the matched coat shall not be too rough or hard, the silk coat shall try to reduce the friction with hard article or forcing tension, so as to prevent from partial pilling and fiber damage.
3. Selection:
The silk is not machine washable, or washed in rough article, instead, the silk shall be gently kneaded in the water.Thoroughly dip the silk clothes into the water or clear water with neutral detergent (the water temperature shall not be over 30℃), clean the . Thoroughly silk clothes with clean water after dipping for 5-10 minutes.
4. Drying:
The silk clothes shall not be dried in the sun or by the drying machine, it shall be generally dried in the cool and ventilated place. The silk clothes shall not be wringed after being washed, instead, it shall be gently shaken and dried with the wrong side out, finally shake, stretch flat or iron after reaching 70% dryness.
5. Ironing: The anti-irritability performance of silk clothes is poorer than the chemical fiber fabric. Therefore, there is a saying: "rease is not true silk”. Dry the clothes to 70% dryness, the ironing temperature shall be controlled below 150℃, and the iron shall not directly touch the silk surface so as to prevent from occurring iron-shine.
6.Storage:
The thin silk clothes shall be stored after being washed clean and ironed. The storage place shall be dry, dark with good airtightness, the camphor shall not be put into the clothes. The autumn and winter clothes that are inconvenient for washing, such as cheong-sam etc. shall adopt dry cleaning, so as to prevent from mildew and worm. |
